Catrice Nude Illusion Foundation

I planned to write this review for a few months, but I always forgot to do it. I also had some problems with pictures and I had to take them again. Then I saw this product is leaving the stores (what I don't really understand, I heard mostly good reviews, but that's how it is by Essence and Catrice), so I decided to finally write it.

Catrice Nude llusion Make Up comes in an expensive looking glass bottle, which contains 30ml of product. I bought it in DM for around 7€. I like the packaging, because you can see how much of the product you have left. It has a pump, that I never had problems with. It dispenses the product well, you can control exactly how much product you want. If you are wondering about the scent, I can't remember if it had a scent at the start and maybe I got used to it, but now I can't smell anything.

There are only four shades available, I bought 015 Nude Vanilla, because it has a yellow undertone. If I remember correctly they didn't have 015 at first and none of the shades was a good match for me. The lightest one was too light and the one that could have been a match, had more of a pink undertone. I'm glad they included 015 Nude Vanilla to their Nude Illusion range.

The texture is on a thicker side, it blends well and I would say that the coverage is medium. Catrice promises a luminous matte finish, but on my skin it looks matt. I really liked it in the summer-to-the-autumn season, but then my skin started to get dry and this foundation can sometimes look a bit patchy and dry looking around the nose and some dry areas, if I don't take the time to really blend it. I always apply it with the Ebelin Makeup Sponge. I set it with a powder, but now in colder months, only on my forehead.

It stays on my skin for a good few hours, I would even say up to 7-8 hours but then it starts to evenly disappear from the face.

When my skin isn't feeling dry I just love it, it almost feels like I don't wear anything on my face and it looks very natural. I just hate those obvious looking foundations and this one is definitely not one of them. It can still look great when my skin is dry, but it does emphasize dry patches sometimes, but I do still like it.

I thought I would buy another bottle for backup, since Catrice is discontinuing it, but I probably won't because I don't use it so often now, I only use it when I want my skin to look good. On the other days I just use the Pure Nude Makeup from Essence, because it blends quicker and I don't have to worry that there would be any dry patches. Maybe I will start using it again when the winter is gone and my skin won't be feeling so dry anymore. I would definitely recommend it to you if you don't have really dry skin and you want a foundation with a medium coverage and matte finish. If you want it, be quick, discontinued products from Catrice are already on sale.
