I'm a bit late with this review, I already saw Catrice Soleil D'été LE products in stores like a week ago, but they should be available till mid of September. This collection is all about metallic looks and bronzing makeup. I got two products to test out: Metalip Colour and a Metal Eyelight. I'm actually eyeing that gorgeous bronzer, as well as the serum bronzer because I heard bronzers from Catrice's LEs are quite nice.
Metallic makeup has been a new trend for a while, so it's no surprise Catrice came out with a metallic themed limited edition. Metalip Colour comes in a classic and typical Catrice packaging, but this one is metallic gold. The texture feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick, it's creamy, but not too creamy. I really like the scent, it smells fruity and sweet. My lipstick didn't come with a sticker that would have a shade number, so I'm not sure which shade I have because they are all so similar, but I looked in the promo photos and I'm pretty sure it's C02 Meet MEtal since it looks more pink.
I'm not a fan of lipglosses or anything shimmery on my lips, but this lipstick actually looks good. At first, it gives the lips a rose metallic shine and it lasts for about an hour or so. But then the layer fades and there is mostly the shimmer left, which lasts quite a while on the lips. It looks perfect for the summer time, it catches the sun light and I like it. Like I said, it feels like a lip balm, so it doesn't dry out the lips. It looks like a tinted lip balm, you can see that on the swatches below. The swatches are not the best, I couldn't capture the shade well, it looks a bit more reddish, but in real life, it's more like a metal rose shade.
Metal Eyelight comes in a pot, which is very well made, it won't break easily if you drop it. It has a black plastic lid. First things that I saw it's how gorgeous the product looks in the pot, it's such a nice metallic gold, perfect for the summer time. The shade is called C01 Sun Kissed Miss.
This has such a fun consistency, kind of spongey or moussey and soft to the touch, I'm not sure how to describe it well. You can use it as an eyeshadow or an eyeliner. I mostly tested it as an eyeliner and it holds well. I don't think I have even worn any different coloured eyeliner than black or blue before, but I adore this one. I do a thin line and it's not too much, it just adds a bit of definition to the eyes. I did use it as an eyeshadow, but it's a bit too much for me.
We had a heatwave here and it didn't smudge, not even once and it lasted the whole day on my eyes. To apply it as an eyeliner you will need a very precise eyeliner brush, mine wasn't as precise, so I didn't draw a perfect line, but it still looked good. But if you prefer going for a straight and neat line, you will need a precise brush.
I like both of the product, but I think I prefer the Metal Eyelight. I love how it looks on the eyes as an eyeliner. And one big plus is, that it stays on for the whole day, even on the hottest days.
