Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 17 Cool Brown

I finally got the liquid lipstick everyone is obsessed with, the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet. Everyone talked about it, so I thought it would be nice to try it. I got the shade 17 Cool Brown because it seemed like a good shade to test and to add to my collection.

The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipstick comes in a classy looking square bottle, it's really nice for storing. The packaging is clear so you can see the product, the lid is in the shade of the lipstick. In it, you get 7,7ml of product for 13,69€ (I got mine in Müller).

The doe foot applicator is small, soft and easy to work with, but tends to hold a lot of product, so if you want to apply the lipstick precisely, you have to wipe the product off.

17 Cool Brown is a light and cool brown, very similar than my lips, but a bit lighter. The formula feels nice and creamy, but the pigmentation is not the best, it's a bit sheer actually. I can't get an even application with just one coat, I need to apply two lighter layers and then it looks okay. Also, it can look a bit patchy, especially if I don't take care of my lips before and nourish them.  

It dries in about 10 Minutes, but if I apply more coasts, it does need longer. It feels sticky when drying, but not when it dries down. It does feel a bit drying, but it's still quite comfortable on the lips. The finish is, like the name says, velvet matte, so not completely matte and it is very longlasting. Since the shade is so similar to my lips, I can't really tell when it starts to disappear from my lips, but I can tell it lasts longer than my other matte liquid lipstick.

I like the creamy formula, the finish and the fact that it is longlasting, but it is quite difficult to work with. My lips have to be in great condition and I need to apply two coats so that it looks nice and even. I wasn't sure if that's just the formula, if it's only this shade or I just got a bad one. I checked some reviews and it seems that the sheer formula is the case with a lot of shades in the Rouge Edition Velvet line. Overall, I do like it and I wear it a lot, just the formula could be a bit better. Maybe I should try the new Rouge Velvet lipsticks, those have great reviews, maybe I will like them better.
