Essence Thank You Box. What's Inside?

Last year Essence cosmetics celebrated 15 years. I'm late, but still, happy birthday Essence! Some of us bloggers also got a special thank you box towards the end of the year. I think there was also a contest where you could win this box, but it's over now. These products are not available separately, which is a shame because I really like them. I still decided to do this post so you can see what's inside of the box if you are interested.

Be My Highlight Eyeshadow Palette

Not even once I used these as eyeshadows, I don't normally wear shades like these. They are perfect as highlighters. They come in a cardboard packaging, which I like. It's square, easy to store and looks nice. The closure is magnetic and it works well. You get 11,2g of products in the packaging. There is also a diamond shaped mirror inside, some mirrors in palettes are sometimes weird and useless, but this one is great.

The shadows are okay pigmented, they can look a bit patchy when swatching, but not when you put them on the face. They do dust a bit. There are four eyeshadow a.k.a. highlighters in the palette. The first one is blue toned, the second one is a creme yellow shade, the third one has rose violet undertone and the last one is light green. On their own, I like to use the second and the third one, because they are quite warm, but I usually mix all together and I get quite a neutral shimmery highlighter. It depends on how I mix it, but it's usually warm-toned.

I really like these shadows as highlighters, I have been reaching a lot for these lately. Almost every time when I wear a highlighter and it's not the Essence Cubanita, it's this palette. The finish is glowy and a bit shimmery and they last almost for the entire day.

Make Me Special Prismatic Lipstick Topper 01 Shine Bright

The lipstick comes in a childish looking packaging, but it closes well. It contains 4,5g of product. I thought mine was broken because I couldn't twist it out, but now suddenly it works. I don't know if I'm just clumsy or what was it. I expected the formula to be a bit hard with all the glitter and that I would feel the glitter but that's not a case. 

The formula feels quite smooth, I can feel the glitter, but only slightly, if I don't think about it, I don't notice it. It has a nice scent, I think I can smell salty caramel. You can use the lipstick as a topper or on your own. I don't like it, it's too glittery. It's almost like a lip balm, but with a lot of glitter. Also, the glitter gets everywhere, I had it all over my face and it's quite hard to remove.

Eyeshadow Brush

I love the design of the brush, it's very shiny and mirror-like effect with transitions between rose and green shades. It also feels very smooth in the hands. The brush is a bit angled, the bristles are soft and not very dense. It's nice to use, it's perfect if you're in a rush, it's such a shape, that you can quickly apply the eyeshadow and also blend it at the same time. But this I only used for light nude shades, it probably wouldn't blend it well with some more vibrant colours. I also use it as a highlighter brush, for the shadows in the palette from this box, because I can apply them precisely.

Ready. Set. Glow. Cosmetics Bag

The cosmetics bag is in a rose gold metallic shade with a black writing on it. It's well made, the zipper is sturdy. It's quite big, bigger than I would normally have in my purse. I normally just carry a lipstick or lip balm and in summer usually a powder so this is too big for me, but if you carry more stuff with you, it will be a perfect size. But you can always store something other in it.

Thank you Essence for sending me this box. It was a nice surprise and I do like all of the products, except the lipstick topper, it's not something for me. My favourite is probably the eyeshadow aka the highlighter palette. I really like using it.
