I have heard so much about this mascara but because I never tried any Max Factor mascaras, I didn't give attention to this one either. A couple of weeks ago, I got it in the mail and now I have to say that this is one of the best mascaras in terms of the effect it gives that I have tried and I'm glad that I had a chance to test it. But there is also a downside.
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara comes in a very simple black tube with gold writing. You get 9ml of mascara for around 10€. The wand is thick and it has a lot of bristles that really separate the lashes.
The formula is just perfect, I can layer it on the lashes and it won't stick them together. The wand really gives that defined fanned out look. I don't notice much volume but it still gives a wonderful defining effect. It almost looks natural, like I have naturally so defined and amazing lashes. When the formula starts to thicken, the product will lather on the wand so you will have to wipe it off before each use.
I noticed this mascara sometimes smudges on me around my lashline but just sometimes, I'm not sure why, because it just happens so randomly. One major downside that I noticed is, that it burns my eyes. I don't have sensitive eyes and I usually don't have problems like this. When my eyes tear up even the slightest bit, I feel the mascara burning in my eyes, that's usually when it smudges if I'm not careful. It burns when I remove it too.
At first, when I noticed the burning, I didn't think that this mascara would be causing it, I thought it's something else, but now that I'm 100% sure and I won't be using it anymore. It's a shame because it's such an easy to wear mascara, it applies quickly, the wand separates the lashes well and it gives an amazing effect. I'm glad that I got a chance to test it but I'm done with it and back to using Essence I Love Extreme or Maybelline Lash Sensational as my go-to mascaras.
Thank you for reading!
