Essence I Need a Miracle! Volumizing & Strengthening Mascara

I think this mascara was added to Essence's assortment in their autumn/winter update last year but I only started to test it a couple of months ago. I had it in my drawer and I never tried it because I had so many others to test but then I saw a couple rave reviews, so I decided to give it a try.

Essence I Need a Miracle! Volumizing & Strengthening Mascara comes in an adorable hourglass-shaped black tube with pink and white details. The tube contains 16ml of product which is a lot, most of my mascaras contain 10-12ml, Maybelline's Lash Sensational only 9,5ml. The mascara costs around 3-4€.

The wand is medium-sized and also hourglass-shaped, Essence says it's shaped like a peanut. I like the wand, I feel it gets to every lash and coats them evenly. It's a nice shape and size because I don't make a mess while applying the mascara like with some others.

The formula is lightweight, it coats all the lashes but it doesn't weigh them down. After some mascaras, the lashes feel hard (mostly waterproof ones though) but with this one, I get the effect but the lashes are still soft to the touch. The formula is black and it gives a good amount of volume, it also lengthens the lashes. Essence says the formula should strengthen the lashes but I can't say anything about that since my lashes are pretty long and dark on its own.

It lasts the whole day, sometimes it does flake but I only noticed this, when it was hot outside and I was sweating like crazy. I even worked in the heat on a field at my grandparents and there was just minimal flaking, no smudging. For a non-waterproof formula, this is really amazing.

I saw that in the new autumn/winter update there will be a new What the Fake! version of this mascara that I will definitely test. I love the effect of this mascara, it lengthens the lashes, it makes them black and volumises them. The wand separates the lashes, I don't have to worry that it would stick the lashes together or make spider-lashes. It is super easy to apply basically. Lately, I have been switching between waterproof Lash Princess and this one. Lash Princess, I use when I really want my lashes to stay and when I know I won't look into the mirror all day, and the I Need a Miracle I use when I want something lighter on my lashes. It is also much easier to remove at the end of the day.
