Bourjois Twist Up The Volume Mascara comes in a black packaging that is wider at the top. It has gold writing, so it looks quite elegant despite the odd shape of the tube. I think there are two or three different versions of the Twist Up The Volume mascara, I got the Ultra Black one and I'm pretty sure this is a newer version. You can get it here from Notino. The tube contains 8ml of product and on Notino it costs 8,51€ but I'm pretty sure it's well over 10€ at DM or Müller.
The formula is great since the beginning. One thing that I like the most and why I started using it more than the Maybelline Lash Sensational, is because I don't have to wipe the mascara off the wand every freaking time I want to apply it. I think it's just a perfect formula that didn't really change in this first few weeks when I was using it. It gives a very similar effect to Lash Sensational but with less effort. It lengthens the lashes well and gives them volume. It is indeed a deep black formula and it can look quite dramatic if you apply more but I never experienced that it would make my lashes look clumpy. It feels very light on the lashes. The mascara is easy to remove.
The wand is the interesting part of the mascara. You have a twisting mechanism on the top, you can twist it and control the wand. When you twist it, you actually control the bristles. You can have them closer together or more apart, to archive the look you want. I actually really like both versions of the wand. I don't look at which version I use first, I just switch in between. Both are good at separating the lashes.
The mascara is not waterproof and it acts like one. It will crumble if you cry and since the formula is on the drier side, it can flake a bit after the whole day of wear (for me that's often from 4.30am to at least 7pm). I did also exercise when I wore it and it never smudged.
I love the mascara, it's one of my favourites I have tried this year. I tried quite a lot of mascaras and I really liked some of them but I still stuck to the Maybelline Lash Sensational but this Bourjois one can maybe replace it. I would really recommend it if you like Maybelline Lash Sensation or any other similar formula. You can buy it on Notino and I'm pretty sure most drugstores have it.
Thank you for reading!
