I have been raving about Oriflame's OnColour nail polishes ever since I got them. They are my favourite nail polish formula ever, they dry fast and last for ever on my nails. Oriflame came out with a new line of polishes, called The One Ultimate Gel Nail Lacquer and I got three shades to test, plus a top coat. Oriflame promises 11-day gel shine, they also say the formula is longlasting.
The One Ultimate Gel nail polishes come in a clear glass bottle with a black cap. You get 8ml of product for around 8€ (the OnColour polishes have 5ml). I forgot to take a photo of the brush but it's bigger than by the OnColour, it's also thicker and round cut. It's easy to cover the nails quickly but if you have narrow nails like me, some polish will probably get around the nails as well.
There are 10 shades available but I have been told some shades go quickly and are always out of stock. Based on the website the shades are pretty basic. The shades that I chose are Nude Sorbet (a peach-toned nude), Lilac Snow (vibrant pastel lilac shade) and Rich Goldmine (warm gold with very finely milled shimmer).
The pigmentation is good, I needed two coats, except with the Rich Goldmine, I did apply two coats but as you can see on the photo, the tips of my nails were still visible. For full opaqueness, I would do three coats. Rich Goldmine would probably also work great as a top coat.
The drying time of these didn't impress me, the OnColour line dries much faster. These need a good couple of minutes to dry but I still get occasional prints on my nails (I always apply my nail polish about one to two hours before I go to sleep). The top coat should give a gel-like mirror shine and it does. It doesn't speed up the drying process though.
They remove fine, like any other nail polish. Just the gold one is pita to remove. The shimmer is very finely milled and it's hard to get everything off but it's understandable with shimmery nail polishes.
The one thing that amazed me is how long these last, I'm happy to report that they last about as long as the OnColour line. I tried the Nude Sorbet without top coat and it lasted for about a week. Then I tried the Lilac Snow with a top coat and it also lasted about the same. The nail polish didn't start to chip or anything after that time, the tips just wore off a bit. Keep in mind I was in the sea/pool a lot and for two days I was also cleaning the pool, which means my nails were in the water a lot. So, the lasting power is impressive for my weak nails.
Thank you for reading!
