Catrice New Lip Products (Volumizing Lip Booster and Plumping Lip Liner)

I received the Volumizing Lip Booster and the Plumping Lip Liner in the mail a couple of weeks back. I heard the first one is supposed to be a replacement of the Dewy-ful Lips Conditioning Lip Butter that I loved but was discontinued. For the second one, the lip liner, I have heard a lot of good things before I started testing it.

Catrice Volumizing Lip Booster 140 Rosewood Hills

The lip booster comes in clear plastic packaging and you can quickly see the shade. It contains 5ml of product and costs around 4€. It's a nicer looking packaging then the Dewy-ful lips one but I still prefer that one. The applicator is similar but the Dewy-ful Lips one is more bendable and a tad softer on the lips. 

The formula is creamy, nourishing and comfortable on the lips. It contains jojoba and almond oil. The only problem I have is with the menthol that's in the formula. Some people like it, some don't and I'm in the second group. The tingling feels weird but it goes away after about 15-20 minutes. I don't know if it actually plumps the lips, they do look fuller but it's mostly because of the shine. The pigmentation is great for a lip gloss and it manages to stay on my lips for a couple of hours. The Dewy-ful Lips smelled amazing, like some Christmasy vanilla cookies but this one smells like chemicals and menthol.

The shade that I got is called Rosewood Hills, it's a gorgeous muted rose shade. They have seven other shades to choose from, all in the nude or pink spectrum. 

It's a great formula, minus the menthol, but I still much prefer the Dewy-ful Lips. It's a shame they discontinued it but I'm glad that I got two backups.

Catrice Plumping Lip Liner 020 What A Doll

I have heard a lot of good things about Catrice's lip liners but I never owned any. The Plumping Lip Liner comes in a slim black packaging, the cap is in the shade of the lip liner. It also comes with a sharpener.

The formula is very creamy, it just glides on the lips. It contains peppermint oil and tingles a bit but not like the lip gloss. The pigmentation is great, the formula doesn't bleed and once it sets it also doesn't move. The finish is semi-matte. The formula is also long-lasting. It should be moisturizing but it can emphasize dry patches on my lips and it starts to feel dry after a couple of hours.

My shade is called 020 What a Doll and it's gorgeous, a very natural but pink-ish shade, it's slightly lighter than my lips. You can choose between 10 colours, fom basic nude shades to reds.

I got used to only wearing lip gloss and similar lip products in the past couple of weeks because this liner feels slightly dry on my lips. But overall, this is a great and creamy formula that would be okay for most people, my lips are just very dry in the colder months. The shade is also fantastic.
