Balea came out with quite a few interesting skincare products and for now, I picked up three. The Niacinamide AHA Peeling I have had for a while now, so I already tested it pretty well, but the other two products are fairly new in my collection, so I will write my first impressions on them.
Balea Niacinamide AHA Peeling
This is the first product that I got a few months ago. It's an AHA peeling with niacinamide. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump. The pump works well, one is enough for my entire face. I like the design, it elevates the Balea brand and it looks like it costs more than it really does.
The peeling is supposed to be for all skin types, it contains no fragrance. It has an antioxidant effect, it's great for removing dead skin cells, regulates the natural production of sebum, prevents breakouts and it's overall good for the skin.
Balea says that you can use it 1-3 times per week and leave it on for 10 minutes. I massage it into my skin about once a week, leave it on for 10 minutes, and then wash it off. I can see that it's working but it's not a huge difference, since the AHA % is quite small. I can see a difference in my skin and it does look a bit better, but the BHA peeling (that I'm going to talk about next) still works better, since it penetrates deeper into the skin.
Balea Beauty Expert Liquid Peeling 2% BHA
This one comes in a bigger and not-so-nice-looking bottle. It has a hole on the top that's not the easiest to control but it's okay. This one contains BHA, which can penetrate deeper into the skin and unclog the pores.
They say to apply a few drops to the face and follow with a face cream. It says on DM's website, that you should use it every second day at the start, and then you can use it every day but I use it about twice a week now in summer. The texture is quite thick, if I say so, it needs a couple of minutes to sink into the skin but it doesn't really bother me. Also important: with both, AHA and BHA, you should use sunscreen, if you're not already.
I like this one better because I can see quite a difference when using it. It especially helps with my blackheads and it doesn't break me out. For now, I really like it.
Balea Niacinamide Serum
The Niacinamide Serum comes in a glass bottle with a pipette that works okay. It has very high reviews, so my hopes were high but I'm not sure about it. I only tried it a couple of times but I think it breaks me out.
Niacinamide is great for reducing redness, minimizing pores and fine lines, and regulating oil but it just doesn't work for me. I will keep testing it to see how it goes in the next couple of weeks but I'm not sure that it will be good for my skin.
Balea has some great new products that many praise about but I decided to test these three. The BHA peeling has quickly become my favourite out of the three, the AHA peeling is okay but nothing special and the niacinamide serum has disappointed me but we will se how it performs in the future.
